What we provide:
Central Housing Registry Windsor–Essex County (CHR-WEC) assists applicants in Windsor and Essex County seeking accommodation in social or non-profit housing through the use of a coordinated access system. Low income families, individuals and seniors may apply. This is a free service.
The coordinated access system provides residents of Windsor and Essex County who want to apply for social housing and non-profit housing in the community, one location to go to and apply for all social housing providers. There are centralized waiting lists for all municipalities in Ontario.
CHR-WEC's moved to a new location in February 2008, our location provides the same customer service as our previous site. You may call or walk-in for service, including: application form for service providers; obtain information about social housing and non-profit housing in the community; and determine if you are eligible for assisted housing. Eligible applicants will be placed on the selected Housing Provider’s waiting list if they meet the required criteria.
